UAE Lottery secures membership in World Lottery Association
First federally licensed lottery in Gulf to join global standards body
The UAE Lottery, operated by The Game LLC, has been formally accepted as a member of the World Lottery Association (WLA), a global organisation representing over 150 government-authorised lotteries and 70 associated suppliers worldwide.
This milestone marks a major advancement in the UAE’s regulated gaming sector and strengthens the country’s commitment to international best practices in integrity, responsible gaming, and operational excellence.
Launched in November 2024, the UAE Lottery is the nation’s first and only federally licensed lottery and the first of its kind in the Gulf region. Operated by The Game LLC and licensed by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), it provides a fully regulated platform that promotes innovation and corporate responsibility.
Global recognition
Membership in the WLA grants The Game LLC access to internationally recognised frameworks supporting responsible gaming, combating illegal operators, ensuring security, and upholding sporting integrity. The association also enables collaboration with other authorised operators across the globe, helping to establish benchmarks for operational excellence within the UAE.
Kevin Mullally, CEO of the GCGRA, noted that this step reinforces the UAE’s dedication to a well-regulated commercial gaming sector. He added that the UAE’s participation in the WLA highlights its role as a forward-thinking contributor to global initiatives in lottery and sports betting.
Responsible gaming focus
At the heart of The UAE Lottery’s mission lies a strong focus on player protection and community benefit. The organisation emphasises the implementation of responsible gaming tools and policies, striving to enrich the entertainment landscape through safe and enjoyable experiences. Participation in the lottery is restricted to residents aged 18 and above.
